The hospital was a training hospital, and the man began to see a steady stream of student doctors. Some of them diagnosed a broken wrist, some diagnosed a broken leg. One of the nurses kept changing the man’s bandages because she was worried his scrapes would become infected. The student doctors and nurses ordered many tests and procedures that kept the man in the hospital so long he caught a lethal infection and died.
