LPs, CDs, MP3s (and read the next two or three in the series)
A peculiar, house-trained globalism
I’m not sure what this one is about but I’m still thinking about that first panel
Exceptionally successful people are weird (panel 4!!)
What is American culture?
Blasphemers! (I get the point and somewhat agree but I suspect there are unseen benefits Girl isn’t taking into account)
A funny but too cynical joke
Now this is a great idea
Is mental illness a social construct?
What does this have to do with me? I have to tell a little story about this one. Many of my friends and relatives expressed shock and dismay that the Federal Government was bailing out Wall Street with 750 billion dollars of their money. I too think the bailout was ill conceived, ill advised and probably won’t help much, if at all. But I was struck by something a friend of mine said in a phone conversation, regarding Wall Street (lightly paraphrased): “Let them burn! Those &*#$-ers can go to hell and burn! Let the stock market crash through the &*#$-ing floor as long as those &*#$-ers get what’s coming to them! I don’t give a &*#$, I’ll eat dirt as long as they’re down in the dirt eating dirt with me.” This comic reminded me of my friend’s sentiments.
Our Candidate I was laughing at this throughout even though I don’t agree with the final punchline. Yes, our current health care system is a disaster but replacing it with a single payer policy would also be a disaster. Perhaps there is a third way we could do things that isn’t spoon-fed to us by the titans of industry or the powermongers of government!
