Awesome story (with pictures!) of a father who built his son a synthesizer because he couldn’t afford a piano in the 70s. I’m pretty sure this is the circuit based on the description but the only problem is they don’t make simple unijunction transistors anymore so you need two transistors, or a programmable unijunction transistor (which requires some extra components). You can of course get some new old stock but it’s a bit pricey.
