I’m beginning to wonder about this child

My daughter just grabbed my index finger and middle fingers, one in each hand, and without warning rammed her eyes into both of my fingertips, three stooges style, and started laughing hysterically. When I tried to pull my hand away in surprise (feeling someone else’s eyeballs rolling around underneath ones fingertips is a very unpleasant sensation) she pulled my hand in harder, like it was a game or something.

I mean, she still has eyes, it’s not like she gouged them out. That’s good, right? And she can see, at least as well as I can determine (“What color is this?” “Paper towels.” “Yes, they are paper towels, but what color are they?” “Paper towels!” etc.).

This is not one of the happy family moments that I envisioned when my wife and I started thinking about having children. My only consolation that this might be somewhat normal is that one of my earliest memories involves standing around, repeatedly jamming my index finger into my eye up to my knuckle.

No. Even the thought of possibly touching my eye squicks me out.

Not sure what the deal is with toddlers and eye damage, but Son#1 is similarly fascinated with eyeballs and poking them.
