It’s been over a month since I made some of these decisions, and of course, I tend not to verbalize or have a running dialogue in my head while editing images anyway. So I’m not going to give you a verbal rundown of every image and why I chose it. That’s not how I roll. Instead, what you see below is the list of initial picks I made for the book.

Yes, there’s a bug with my contact sheet generating app; it cuts off the bottom of the vertically oriented images. Aside from that, please note that these images are as I pulled them straight from lightroom, so even the ones I didn’t pick have some editing applied to them. And of course, the final images are as they will appear in the book (I’m tweaking most of these images with additional noise reduction, but that’s not going to be visible at this resolution).

For comparison, here are the final images that I chose for the book. You can compare these two sets to see how I went with multiple takes of certain shots, and how I picked some images over others.
