Okay, I just gave my friend Heather Brown a posting account. I knew Heather in high school; she just moved out to San Diego, California with her husband Devin (who I also knew in high school). Heather is the person I go to for “on the scene” California recall news. (“It’s so tedious! They [the media] only take hits at Arnold, they never tell you why Cruz Bustamente is better or why you should vote for him. They just assume that you want to hear bad things about Arnold.”)
I went on a date with Heather once. The movie that I wanted to see, she had seen the week previously, so I asked her what she wanted to see. “Judge Dredd,” she replied. So don’t give her too hard of a time; SHE IS THE LAW!
(In defense of her taste in movies, I told her I was going to tell that story here on the weblog. She said “John, I don’t remember actually wanting to see Judge Dredd.” “Well,” I replied, “as I remember it, you had already seen the movie I wanted to see, so you probably did one of those snap judgement things.” “Yeah, that makes more sense.” “But at the time, and for quite a while afterwards, I thought you actually did want to see it, so that’s how I’m telling the story.” “*laughter* Okay John, whatever.”)
