Okay, so this one was easy. Occasionally I like to post IRC transcripts on my weblog. Alas, Wordpress thinks that <the_W> is really the_W tag, so every time I try to do this, I wind up spending about 15 minutes or more converting all of the < and > characters to < and > entities.
I googled for an entity converter, but I didn't get anything useful on my first two google tries, so I thought to myself, this must be pretty easy to write in php. It was.
Here is what the above text will look like when it gets pasted into your html document:
